Accessing care shouldn't be this hard.
Struggling shouldn’t feel like hitting walls at every turn. But for too many Black men, it does: long waitlists, cultural stigma, economic barriers, and a lack of trusted, culturally relevant support make getting help nearly impossible. Instead of care, you face obstacles—and the result is exhaustion, isolation, and carrying the weight of your struggles alone.
Let's close the gap, together.
Accessing mental health support shouldn’t be a luxury. It shouldn’t require waiting 16 months, searching endlessly for a Black therapist, or carrying the weight alone because the system wasn’t built with you in mind. But for too many Black men in Canada, this is the reality.
At Black Men's Therapy Foundation, we’re changing that.
Through culturally grounded visibility, community, and healing experiences, we’re creating real pathways to wellness, pathways that honour Black men’s lives, stories, and inner worlds. Our commitment is simple: no Black man should be denied care because of cost, isolation, or lack of representation.
Every day, we are building a future where Black men are seen, supported, and cared for — not after crisis, but before it. A future where healing is accessible, not out of reach. But we can’t do it alone.
Your support helps us expand therapy access, reduce financial barriers, and bring more men into spaces of rest, reflection, and community. Together, we can rewrite what mental health care looks like for Black men in Canada.
Join us, and help create a world where every Black man has the support he deserves.

Across the country, Black men face some of the greatest barriers to mental health care — not because of a lack of need, but because of a lack of access, representation, and culturally grounded support.

I really do believe that the space Black Men's Therapy Fund provided is crucially needed in Toronto, which is a sad reality but as someone that didn't spend more than a little over 5 years here, I'm not sure and noone I asked really seems to be able to identify, genuine Black spaces outside of a clinical/social services content - and even that's a challenge.

I had a great expereience with Black Men's Therapy Fund. I'm glad I made it a point to attend and I found that the struggles I have are also shared by other Black men and it was encouraging to share in the healing process. It is never-ending but this expereience has placed me a step closer on my mental health journey.

Black Men's Therapy Fund gave me the opportunity to not only connect with other Black men/brothers, it gave me an opportunity to be vulnerable and share about my own struggles...I saw Black men, like me, become emotional and teary...It reminded me that I don't have to hold it in all the time, it reminded me that there are others like, and it reminded me that I am no odd, but different and enough. Thank you Black Men's Therapy Fund for giving me this opportunity to find myself a bit more.
